Join Michael Jackson fans from all over the World here in NYC on the one year anniversary of his passing, June 25th. We will hold a Fan Dinner & Remembrance at the legendary Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem on June 25th from 6pm-9pm. Fans will gather to share memories of Michael and to meet MJ fans from all over the globe. The evening will include a Fabulous Dinner, Entertainment and Surprises! Followed by a Processional Candlelight Walk to the LEGENDARY APOLLO THEATRE. Where we will join fans across the world and sing Michael’s Song “CRY”.

Why come to NY? New York was a special place in Michael Jackson History - It was in New York, that the Jackson 5 were discovered at the Apollo Theatre, It was New York- that Michael lived-while he was filming the WIZ, where he filmed his spectacular “Bad” video , it was New York’s Madison Square Garden - that Michael Performed his last concert for his Anniversary tribute and so, much more.

Tickets are only $40.00, we are ONLY accepting payments via PayPal, no tickets will be sent to you, you will be registered and will sign you in with proof of ID at the door.

The evening will begin at 6pm at Sylvia's Restaurant which will include a full course dinner:

Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays, staying safe, and dancing their booties off! ;)

I just got off the phone with Record Holders Republic, they are still tallying the numbers, it seems they have settled on it being around 23,000 people give or take and we are 97 of those!!

[From TTW Website: 22,923 people danced in 32 countries and broke the Record Holders Republic! Volunteers in 278 events around the world Thrilled The World in 2009 raising over $85,000 USD for 80 charities! Official list of TTW 2009 Participant Numbers PDF will be made available soon. Start planning for 2010: Sunday, October 24 @ 04:30am GMT/UTC which is Saturday in some parts of the world.]

If you are interested in receiving a certificate with your name on it from ME not TTW, it's only $10. Let me know, we can meet up exchange moolah, and then I will order them for us in a bundle. I just wanted to send out a quick invite to all of you to let you know that we (TTW
Staff and Beat It Parade Dancers & Thriller Zombies) are getting together to celebrate
the success of TTW (Thrill The World) at DJDeejay's famous MMP Party at Le Poisson
Rouge tomorrow night! So you are all welcome to join us!!

I will be taking orders for T-shirts and official DVD's and of course will bring
bracelets that can still be purchased for next years discounts.
But just so you all know, I am officially working on a new project "Director of
Special Events for Planet Connections Festivity" and while I may be taking a break
from TTW for a while I will be making plans for revamping and updating the website
and making plans to make TTWNYC next year bigger and better then before. If you
have any ideas or would like to participate and become a staff member I would love
to speak to you. Next years plans include a contract, a stipend, and a continuation
of success. The more the merrier I always say and we have only just begun with making
this event awesome.

The MMP Dance Party (Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince) will be at Le Poisson
Rouge this Friday November 6th. It starts at 10:30pm. We will most likely be meeting

Congratulations! We did it!!
So it rained...as promised by the weather channel but somehow miraculously we were
able to pull this event off! It couldn't have happened though without all of you.
So thank you again for doing an awesome job, dancing in the mud and standing in
the rain...LOL
I apologize for not
getting this info out to you sooner but Zombie Wonder Woman and friends
still had some things to finish this week. We had another awesome
fundraiser that had been scheduled previously and we Thrilled Refi Rock
at Terminal 5 on Thursday night raising $500 alone for VH1 Save the
Music! So thanks to those who came out and participated in that too you know who
you are!! :)
And Believe it or not the registration forms SURVIVED!!
This morning we tallyed up everything and are pleased to report that we (NYC) had
97 Zombie Dancers.
Thrill The World together had 22,923 people who danced in 32 countries and broke
the Record
Holders Republic!
Volunteers in 278 events around the world Thrilled
The World in 2009 raising over $85,000 USD for 80 charities!
What I need from you now is pictures, videos, and any media coverage that you may
have found pertaining to our event. We need to prove that we Thrilled The World
and also I want to archive our event so we can update the website with everything.

(Field Area on 23rd Ave & 19th Street)
Take the N or W to the last stop DITMARS BLVD-ASTORIA STATION.

Walk up one block till you are on Ditmars Blvd then make a left and walk towards

But, basically YOU will need to arrive with or in zombie or Halloween costume, and
be ready to hang out and have a good time. Bring food and water, Bring food and
water for a friend, and if you are expecting friends and family to come watch you
they will need to bring a chair to sit on. Bring mirrors and towels and toilet paper
if you think you will need it. Bring your camera and tell your friends to bring
theirs so we can post this on youtube! If anyone is driving there will be free parking
at Astoria Park. We have some wonderful prizes to give away and of course we have
the fabulous DJDEEJAY spinning. So, bring Frisbees, bring footballs, bring a slip

Ladies and Gentlemen... Boys and Girls... Ghouls and Goblins Thrill The World NYC
has ASTORIA PARK, Queens!!
We are holding the permits in our hands! Yay!!
I was able to squeeze a few more dollars from the Gene/Amada fund to cover the permits
since they are time sensitive. Although we are still in dire need of donations for
the insurance certificate and of course the rental of a generator and the tables
and chairs. Basically
we, my fiance Gene and I put down the security deposit/clean up bond
($500) and the expense of overtime ($300). We are willing to put our
rent on the line for this...with the promise that everyone cleans up
after themselves, so when the park is returned to perfect condition the $500 will
be returned back to us. We are entrusting all of you zombies to do
just that. The
sound permit was another $45.00 but we have those funds covered from
special misc. donors. So done!
Please if you can DONATE do so! It's simple and easy and tax deductible!
Before Monday we need to raise at least $600 bucks. That's a couple bucks per person

I had this idea! Let's meet up this Saturday October 10th for the Today's Show.

here in NYC October 24th!" Etc... The today show starts at 6am, since I have to
teach later at 3pm I might not get there until around 8am. But if anyone wants
to go and tell them we could schedule a performance of "Thriller" either right then
and there or later in the week We will do it!! What better way then go up right
under their noses and say Hi?? See you there in full zombie gear and with signs.
Then after wards we can go flash mob dancing around town and then maybe breakfast.

has ASTORIA PARK, Queens!!
Well..almost...
Here's where we need your help! Before Monday we need to raise at least $600 bucks.
That's a couple bucks per person from this group...PLEASE click on the fractured
atlas button and donate!! DONATE $5-$20 bucks if You can...
Basically we need $500 for the security deposit clean up bond. My fiance Gene and
I are willing to put our rent on the line for this...with the promise that everyone
cleans up after themselves, so when the park is returned to perfect condition it
will be returned back to us. We are entrusting all of you zombies to do just that.
The sound permit is going to be another $45.00 but we have those funds covered from
special misc. donors.
But we need $300 to cover the park workers overtime (certified check due Monday)
and we need $300 to cover our certificate of insurance from Fractured Atlas (received
thru Fractured Atlas).

King of Pop... A Killer Video!!

On August 30th, 2009, some of the Thrill the World NYC Dancers were invited to participate in the newest video, King of Pop... A Killer Video, starring Itsi Atkins and Ola Ray (the original girl from the Thriller Video). The actual filming was done in Times Square but before hand to prep Times Square Arts Center was awesome enough to let us prep and get ready. When we left the center to make our way to Times Square the Zombies were literally "attacked" by the surrounding crowds, we had a blast!! Oh, don't forget we have a HUGE fundraiser happening on September 14th, 2009 at B. Smith's in Times Square NYC, you should all come bring your friends, family, fellow zombies, etc!!! You can see the dancers perform and were also going to be raising money for our Thrill the World NYC Charity - VH1 Save the Music!! Come out after work and enjoy some food and beverages. Movie: KING OF POP...A KILLER VIDEO (Starring Itsi Atkins and Ola Ray)

1. DANCERS MUST be AVAILABLE on SUNDAY AUGUST 30th from 7pm-11:30pmw/full costume and own zombie makeup. (Click here for zombie makeup/costume tips from TTW (http://www.manada.biz/TIPS.pdf) All extra's for the film/close up shots in various spots through out NYC w/camera crew and director MUST be available till 2am!!

2. We need a head count! (30-40 zombies and each can bring a
friend for PA/Security/or just to be in the background as an extra) Due to all
extra attention on this event Extra rehearsals have been scheduled for Monday August
24th -Thursday August 27th from 6pm-8pm at Central Park West and 106th Street location (take the B to 103rd and walk up to 106th and meet at the staircase). The choreographers will be Amada Anderson and Kat Lundy. You must be willing to be off book/learn the dance before this movie (or to the best that you can) in order to participate. We will be dancing in Times Square for the shoot at least 3-4 times that evening in full costume/makeup. It has come to my attention that a lot of FLASHMOBS (a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse) Events are being organized throughout the city but the next big thing is THIS SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd! If you are interested in participating in a Beat IT/MJ Tribute movie similar to the famous youtube.com Stockholm videos then find on Facebook and join the groups "Michael Jackson flash mob tribute NYC" and/or NYC's Dancing Tribute to Michael Jackson. I believe they are starting 9am this Sunday. (This also will be filmed as a tribute video)

TTWNYC Meeting Notes 8/11/09

Ok. So we have some headway…

First TTW Dance Rehearsal had a handful of people but they were happy and having a good time, so things are looking good. We shall see how the rest of the week turns out and if we have to change schedules pertaining to how we teach the classes. Looks like it might take 2 classes, like an A and then B, or maybe just a movement class (to learn the moves), and B to run the moves/dance. I’ll let the choreographers decide.

GRAPHICS:
We have a logo! Kathleen just needs to add our sponsors and event info to it and make it all shiny and then it goes to the printers!

FUNDRAISER:
We have sponsorship for our BIG fundraiser at B. Smith Restaurant. It’s scheduled for September 14th. It’s the second Monday in September. We get a percentage off the bar plus we can raffle off prizes and gifts. I was thinking of hosting Skaraoke as well which is karaoke except you have to pay to sing and you might have to sing something somebody else puts up. We can have a get out of skaraoke free card that can be purchased at $10. But we need to have moolah to buy/make some of our fancy T-shirts and of course the bracelets for the event. So 4 weeks to raise some money for the fundraiser to make more money!!

FUN MEETING:
We would like to have a Potluck Picnic in the Park, meaning all staff meet each other and hang out. So we can actually brainstorm and get to know each other better. Please let me know if you are available on Sunday, August 23rd? It’s like next Sunday.

MJ BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE:
OK. Also…we decided that as a tribute of our own for MJ Birthday-Let’s do a TTWNYC Flash MOB Outing! So mark your calendars. August 29th from All Day or something we get together with the boombox and go Thriller wild, dance and pass out flyers!!

Thriller Killer Movie: This is the Movie that Itsi Atkins is creating. We are filming our zombies on August 30th! So if you know that dance or want to participate you should talk to Tarah or myself to sign up!

Paypal (linked to my checking account for charity/all our cash donations) will be back up and running this weekend on all our websites! Yay!

Permit:
The request has been sent certified and I know it was received but have yet to hear back. It can take 14-21 days…

Sponsorship: It also looks like we have sponsorship from RICKY’s NYC as well as McDonalds (5th ave location) just waiting on final approval. Yay! Diana!!

After Party:
Also, we would like to see if Webster Hall would be interested in being our after party location, or we need to find a club that can hold a lot of people near Times Square that we can ask will help us raise money for VH1 Save the Music.

What else what else….oh! And we have a lady interested in doing a documentary about TTW! I am having Ines’s producer’s in LA contact her direct.

Producer Itsi Atkins is looking for about 30-40 zombies to perform the "Thriller" dance in Times Square on or around August 29th for his movie King Of Pop Killer which is a dark comedy about an obessed fan who wanders the streets of NYC as a sleep zombie revenging the death of his super hero. Ola Ray from the original music video (the Girlfriend) has been contacted to play a feature cameo.

More NEW BLOOD!! Let me welcome Emily Cohen are brand spanking new promotions coordinator (ttwnycpromos@gmail.com) and we have 3 more choreographers Lindsay Levy, Steph Russo and Rebecca Nido.

Rehearsal Schedule: YES! We have a rehearsal schedule for our qualified choreographers and are planning on starting next week to teach the classes. Remember if you are interested in teaching the dance as well you need to attend a workshop with Tarah, Scott, or Katrina before teaching anyone else the dance.

Charity:
I’ve sent in the application to Make A Wish and should know by end of next week (August 7th) if we are sponsoring them. And on Friday at this past meeting we discussed purchasing bracelets (like Livestrong but black or red and will say Thrill The World NYC 2009) to sell for $10 a piece and all proceeds will go directly to our charity.

Graphics:
I was told August 7th was when we would have something for flyers. Meanwhile we should attempt to create our own using the templates given to us by Thrill the World and that event manager’s link page. If you do happen to make flyers to hand out at clubs or to your friends please remember to save your receipts for reimbursement. I’m also thinking of doing a massive email blast with a contest for NYC graphics?? For the t-shirts we want to sell on Café Press. What do u think?

World Records:
Just to clear up any confusion about what TTWNYC is doing:
Last year Austin was “The Largest Thriller Dance” (NYC WANTS TO BEAT THEM!!!)
TTW is the Largest Simultaneous Thriller dance (Global Together)
TTW wants to beat “The Largest Simultaneous Dance” which is 197, 569 elementary school kinds who did the hokey pokey back in April of 2002 in Canada.

Venue/Permit: Still waiting to hear back from Times Square Alliance. We still need a non profit organization to sponsor us for us to get the permit.

MEETINGS:
And this week we want to organize a Staff/Choreographer rehearsal for Tuesday at 5:30pm at 106th & Central Park West to walk through the choreography and rehearse with our new choreographers as well as staff members for when we go to promote and so we all can know the dance.

2^nd TTW_NYC_2009 Staff Meeting notes from Thursday July 23^rd 2009:

THANKS for coming out in the rain and joining me!

New blood!

Katrina McDaniels and her friend Nicole came to the meeting and we now have a Registration Coordinator (handles zombies at the event) / Online officers (Promotes and edits online network groups). As well as Camilla Plummer who will be our new finance officer! Camilla please, if you could give me the honor of creating a TTWNYCfinance@gmail.com account then I can send you the shared documents. And my fiance has been talked into being our Zombies Care Coordinator his name is Gene Chiang.

Venue:

We (Celena, Kat L, and Kathleen) and new blood discussed our options in the Times Square area. We later met up with Scott and he and I walked back through the Times Square. Amada has Brilliant change of PLANS. I am going to get a permit for 45^th-47^th Streets and although one half of the group is on the other side of the street we can still dance all together if the sound is set up correctly. Stage being on one corner of the street and basically taking up two blocks. It’s going to be AWESOME. Forget Duffy’s Square or Military Island-We are now focusing on reserving those two blocks. That’s enough room for 2000 zombies!! And probably just one SAPO permit.

Fund/Promotions: We discussed bake sales, auctions of 80’s things, dance-a-thons, Kat L has a list of ideas popping outta her head we just need to get started!

Charity:

I’ve tried contacting Make A Wish foundation/Heal the World (MJ Charities). Have not heard back a reply. I want to create t-shirts to sell on Café press to donate to our charity. It is possible…but the logos will come later for this idea once we secure our charity to make a linked t-shirt to say something like “TTW NYC makes a wish come true and so can u” IDK just bubbling with thoughts now…

Registration:

Buying bracelets for day of for Staff to wear as well as our registered zombies so we know for sure who is part of our Guinness world records team & they can receive discounts at various sponsored places.

Guinness: Kat K is already in the process of filling out our forms but we are waiting another week before sending to see if we can fill in the blank space to answer regarding charity and sponsorship.

The MJ Dance Team:

We are meeting this Sunday July 26^th at 3pm to walk through all the movements and make sure we are all on the same page and we can designate ourselves into appropriate groups as well as scheduling. So our blood thirsty zombies can get what they have registered for!!

Sponsorship:

We talked about companies such as Red bull, Coke (but we should try Pepsi first since they owe MJ a favor for accidently burning his head!), Sony and Epic records. The Hard rock café, Starbucks, Planet Hollywood, All local Hotels for ballroom rental, all local dance studios for rehearsals, All local colleges and universities use of their dance/makeup/costume departments. Also we should check with local charitable celebrities like Rosie’s Broadway dance studio/Alvin Alley/Kids dance studios? (when I was younger I wanted to learn Thriller), Also Daniel has some great ideas for sponsorship from Ricky’s and local costume shops.

Ok. I think my heads gonna explode and brains go flying. OH!!!

We have as of today exactly: 91 days to do all this!!

Notes from TTWNYC 2009 1st Staff Meeting -Union Sq on Thursday July 16th 2009

Ok, first and foremost-I have yet to determine our venue but I am shooting for Times Square. I mean this is going to be the biggest year ever and we should do Thrill The World and Michael Jackson justice!

So in regards to securing Times Square we need for a non profit organization or corporate company to sponsor us in the forms of a certificate of insurance. If you or your company would like to sponsor us please contact our newly designated sponsorship coordinator Diana Leary (TTWNYC_Sponsor@gmail.com). We are also looking for all types of donations and local sponsors to donate goods and services to our thirsty hungry zombies the day of. Please send ideas and suggestions for her to send out the letters to..

Fundraising! With or without Sponsors we will need moolah now for all these permits and things. Kat Lundy (TTWNYC_fundraising@gmail.com) is going to head up our fundraising team. She’s going to organize ways for our zombies to get involved now and help. Zombie Car washes/Danceathons/All that jazz!!

Kat Kiernan (TTWNYC_WGRecords@gmail.com) is going to be our World Guinness Records officer. She fills out the applications for us and gives us all the goody details on how exactly we qualify.

Celena Sinko (TTWNYC_documentation@gmail.com) is our documentation team leader. She will handle all aspects of exact photos we will need for Thrill the World as well as be the go to for all other photographers. I would like everyone to take as many pictures as possible but we need professional videos/pictures to qualify.

*We Still want a CHARITY as well. Ideas? Thoughts? I would like to work with nonprofit organizations or local charities because I believe Thrill The World is the perfect car for raising money for a charity.

We need a logo for our website/flyers (WE HAVE THE HOOK UP WITH RAY's PIZZA's THANKS to Anna Cordera my co-assistant organizer and friend)/t-shirts etc and Daniel Rivera had a great idea for how we can stay true to TTW’s logo but claim NYC as our event ID. Ideas were tossed around and Kathleen Marie (TTWNYC_Graphics@gmail.com) is going to design our logo! Her title shall be Graphic Designer.

And of course…Tarah Blasi (TTWNYC_Danceofficer@gmail.com) is to be our Lead Dance Instructor/Officer and Xiomara Forman is to be our second in command. They will
need help, lots of help organizing spaces/zombies and all our very helpful assistant dance instructors so that our zombies will learn Thriller quickly and then run and tell their friends!!

We have the rehearsal schedule posted below and of course if you are registered you will receive the email blasts with all updates pertaining to our event. And as soon as we are ready we will begin teaching thriller to the hungry ZOMBIES!!!
